The workshops will provide an opportunity to explore the culture of Arabic calligraphy through hands-on learning.

Arabic calligraphy provides a means for individuals to explore how letters interact, how they relate to motion, and how they contribute to an overall composition. Participants in this programme will have the opportunity to practise letterforms using simple strokes under the direction of an instructor, as well as produce a word or short phrase that has significance for them.

Families can produce multiple pieces based upon a single topic (e.g., belonging). Companies can produce a series of images reflecting how they view their experiences of living and working in the UAE.

A Collaborative Painting Activity for Families and Groups

Group painting offers the opportunity for each person to participate in the development of a product that is greater than what they would have been able to create on their own. The participants may be asked to paint on their own individual canvases and then assemble these individual pieces into a single larger piece of art, or, alternatively, they can each add their own personal touch to a common UAE-themed canvas.

In a family context, this provides an opportunity for both adult and child members of the family to share their individual perspectives with one another regarding the same project. In a professional setting, selecting colours, organising the content within each section, and linking together the various design components provides an avenue for dialogue and collaboration.

Create your own personal keepsake through our clay and pottery workshops.

The use of clay as an art form allows for a hands-on experience, which provides individuals with time to slow down and create. In a structured hand-building class, students may have the opportunity to make a small decorative item such as a dish, tile, or ornament based on architectural designs from their community or the natural features of the area where they live.

Families can compare their own creations, and groups of individuals can use the same subject or idea to create various interpretations of that idea. Easy-to-complete projects are ideal for those who have no experience in creating pottery, as they are simple enough to be done by beginners.

Final Thoughts

The top workshops for UAE National Day in Dubai are spaces where people can create art as well as participate in and celebrate the holiday with others. Each of these five workshops (calligraphy, collaborative painting, pottery, tote bag painting and candle making) provides a distinct way to share an experience.

Select an activity that is appropriate for your group; then verify the materials needed for the activity, who will supervise the activity, when the activity will be conducted, and how the activity will be completed. Planning in advance can help make a workshop a memorable event through the experience of participating in the workshop as well as the product(s) created during the workshop.
